KAYU®-Golden™ is a Balau/Bankirai hardwood species. A mixture of warm golden, reddish-browns and golden light-browns. Typically chosen for its rich hue and subtle grain. A proven performer for decades in the most demanding applications, standing up to heavy use for high traffic areas. One of the hardest, strongest, and most durable of all woods, highly resistant to decay, insects and mold. Class A Flame Spread Rating (same as concrete and steel), 100% clear grade. 100% natural and 100% organic, with no preservatives or additives, kiln dried for consistency, and always carefully inspected by Kayu exclusive graders.
KAYU®-Dark Red Meranti-Select™ (DRM-Select) is carefully selected from the Dark Red Meranti group, specifically from the Bukit & Nemesu Species. Reddish brown in color when it is freshly installed. Overtime, deepens in color to that famous rich red brown-ish color and then gradually silvering over time. Grown in high altitudes of Malaysia, it is naturally one of the most dense Meranti species available. Possesses an incredible combination of beauty and performance, strength, and durability that is superior among even the finest decking materials available, of any kind. Its dense cell structure and interlocking grain serves as a natural deterrent to decay, insects and mold caused by humidity, and deterioration caused by snow and hot summer days.
