January 20, 2014 – Tualatin, Oregon – KAYU International, Inc. announced that is has earned Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC) Chain of Custody certification from Scientific Certification Systems, one of the world’s leading FSC certifiers and one of FSC’s founding members.  FSC provides third-party certification confirming that materials sold as FSC certified are harvested from well-managed forest operations.  At KAYU International, forest sustainability is taken extremely seriously and obtaining FSC CoC certification was a major step to solidify their position as company that operates in an environmentally friendly manner.

KAYU International will begin by offering KAYU Golden Balau™ (FSC 100% Yellow Balau Bangkirai) in 5/4 X 6, 1 X 6 and 1 X 4 decking sizes from their Portland, OR location beginning late spring 2014.  If your company is already FSC certified, KAYU FSC material can be ordered via standard purchase order specifying FSC material.  If your company is not already certified, KAYU can direct you to the appropriate contact person at Scientific Certification Systems or another certification body to help you begin the process.
